Donations
There are many things HCSG does, and many more we’d like to do, that are not covered by funding. HCSG must adhere strictly to the contract with each funding body and does not have the right to use funding for anything other than what it is allocated for. It would be ideal to have some discretionary funds to purchase items and offer activities beneficial to consumers and their carers, eg wheelchairs, seat belts for HCSG buses, a hospital bed for the new respite cottage. If we had sufficient funds there are projects we would like to embark on to enhance the services we currently provide, eg supporting children of people with mental illness.
HCSG is fortunate to have many people contribute in a variety of ways, all of them valuable and highly appreciated. A donation form is available for those who feel comfortable making a financial contribution that can be allocated, at the discretion of HCSG, for the benefit of consumers and their carers. HCSG’s Chief Financial Officer explains that a small amount of money coming in monthly is preferable to a one-off donation as it gives us a regular income which can be budgeted. So, give it some thought, and if you or any of your friends or family would like to complete and return the donation slip, we would be very grateful. Please know that even a small amount monthly is a big help.
